Kosovo – Condemnation of the attack on the police (September 25, 2023)
France strongly condemns the unacceptable attack on the Kosovo police that took place on September 24, leaving one police officer dead and two others injured. France offers its condolences to the families of the victims and calls for the perpetrators to be swiftly brought to justice.
The gravity of these events underscores the urgent need for both Serbia and Kosovo to act responsibly in order to decrease tensions and re-engage in good faith in the EU-facilitated Dialogue, which is the only way to succeed in normalizing relations between the two countries and allow them to make progress toward the EU.

We refer you to President Macron’s remarks during his 8 p.m. news interviews on TF1 and France 2 on September 24:
“We will continue to help Africa fight against terrorism. But we will only do so if it is at the request of the democratically elected authorities and regional authorities.”
“There have been more Islamist terrorism-related deaths in Niger since the beginning of the coup than there were during the preceding 18 months.”
